Oral Health Care & Prevention: Dental Sealants
Dental Sealants
Dental Sealants are used in dentistry to help protect the back teeth (such as molars) from decay in children. Sealants are thin plastic coatings that fill in the small grooves and pits of the back teeth to prevent food from getting stuck in these uneven surfaces and thereby prevent germs from doing damage.
It is recommended that children get sealants as soon as their permanent molar teeth come in before there’s a chance of decay. Along with other important practices such as brushing, flossing and regular dental check-ups, Sealants are a great preventive measure against your child’s tooth decay.
