Oral Health Care & Prevention: Flossing
Flossing
Flossing is a necessary daily practice that is critical to maintaining your oral health. You have choices when it comes to the type of dental floss you prefer to use such as waxed vs. unwaxed or plain vs. flavored floss. Regardless of what kind of floss you prefer, you should floss daily to ensure that harmful microbes that are missed by brushing alone don’t have the opportunity to cause damage to your teeth or gums.
Af first, flossing may cause some minor bleeding which may seem scary. But as time goes on and you floss regularly, the bleeding should stop as your gums become accustomed to routine. You should floss at least once a day and if possible, after each meal to ensure optimal oral health.
